Blackberry & Cardamom Smash is a quick and festive drink to mix up this holiday season. Blackberries and lemon are muddled together to release their juices. The cardamom adds warmth, spice, and a touch of sweetness. Once you have the cardamom syrup made, try it in other beverages like your morning coffee!

Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp ground cardamom
handful of blackberries, plus 1 for garnish
lemon slice
sparkling water (we recommend: San Pellegrino)
Make cardamom syrup in advance. Combine 3/4 c water with granulated sugar and cardamom in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Allow to cool and then strain. Store in an air-tight glass container in the fridge.
In a short glass, gently muddle the blackberries with the lemon. Add 1 1/2 oz of cardamom syrup and stir to combine. Add ice to the glass and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a blackberry.
